Dr. Sandro Saitta - Data & AI advisor

Sandro Saitta is a seasoned data and AI leader dedicated to helping organizations transform their analytical potential into tangible business results. As a Data & AI advisor at viadata, he advises executives, leads corporate training programs, and supports companies in building their data capabilities, from strategy design to project execution. He is also the author of The Data-Driven Leader, a book that guides professionals in leveraging data and AI for strategic impact and effective decision-making.

Previously, he served as Head of the Industry Unit at the Swiss Data Science Center (SDSC), where he built and led a team of 20 data scientists and launched more than 25 high-impact collaborations with companies such as Richemont, Logitech, Merck, Adecco and Firmenich. Throughout his career, Sandro has worked at the intersection of business value and technical innovation. At Expedia, he led a strategic project to identify and onboard high-value hotel partners. At SICPA, he led machine learning projects to support advanced authentication technologies. At Nestlé Nespresso, he led the development of a global, data-driven forecasting system for demand planning.

Sandro holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from EPFL. He is a strong advocate for data and AI literacy and loves connecting people. He co-founded the Swiss Association for Analytics, a nonprofit organization that promotes data science across Switzerland through events and community-building initiatives. He lectures at HEC Lausanne in the Certificate of Advanced Studies in Data Science and Management, where he helps shape the next generation of data-aware business leaders.

Sandro is also a member of the executive committee of CDOIQ Europe, supporting the development of Chief Data Officers and AI leaders throughout the continent. He is also the creator of the AI Literacy Academy, a self-paced online program offering a business-focused introduction to Artificial Intelligence.
